Actor Naseeruddin Shah makes a strong appearance in the upcoming film "The Great New Wonderful" dealing with New York a year after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Shah, whose character is named Avit, plays a security guard along with fellow Indian actor Sharat Saxena (playing Satish). The movie's website describes them thus: "Avi and Satish (Naseerudin Shah, Sharat Saxena), immigrants, best friends and security guards, travel around the city casually observing contemporary America until dramatic events force them to re-evaluate their opposing perspectives."

Directed by Danny Leiner the film predominantly conveys this: "Shock can be a tricky thing. Sometimes our emotional response to horrific events can be hidden from us at first, only to appear after some time has passed."

The trailer of the movie shows two scenes feature Shah. In one scene he asks Saxena, "Smell that?" Saxena asks, "What? "Shah replies, "Fall is coming."

In another scene in an elevator, Shah tells actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, "Life is very short my friend, you should all know that by now."
